3 for 1: Wait till Your Vampire Gets Home, Over My Dead Body, and Come Hell or High Water

Hello, my fellow readers! Well I can't seem to get enough of Michele Bardsley's, 'Broken Heart' series. I have read books 4, 5, and 6 in the past few days. Yes, I spend quite a few hours in the day reading. It's a weakness! I'm ready to see what she has in store for us in books 7 and 8. I hope the series will keep me hooked like the last few have :)

In "Wait till Your Vampire Gets Home," Libby Monroe comes to town for some para-normal research. Little did she know she'd hit the para-normal jackpot in Broken Heart, OK. Libby meets up with Ralph Genessa (vampire) her first night in town. After a run-in with a dragon (yeah that's right) the powers are transferred to Libby and Ralph. With Libby's new found strength she has to take on an evil dragon who is after her powers before he burns up the whole town. That's not the only thing burning in town, the fire between Libby and Ralph is hot but he has two little boys to think of. Does he blow out the flames or will he and Libby make a life together and burn forever?

"Over My Dead Body," introduces the towns mechanic, Simone Sweet. She has secrets in her past that she thought were dead and buried however the past has caught up with her. In order to survive and protect her daughter, Glory, she has to betray Broken Heart and the people in it. If that isn't enough, Braddock Hayes who used to be part of a Government special ops team that hunted and killed para-normal creatures, has moved to town. After a mission that went wrong he plays for the para-normal side now. Will he be able to help Simone be true to the people she loves as well as him?

In "Come Hell or High Water," Connor Ballard, part Ghillie Dhu (fairy) and part demon, has deceived Phoebe Allen. It's not until after they have mated that she finds out Connor is a half demon. Since Phoebe's vampire powers are to expel demons, their marriage is off to a rough start. If only that was their only problem. Connor tricked Phoebe to protect her and also so she would help him ward off the demon who is out to get him. Can Phoebe send this demon back to the pit where she came from? Can Phoebe see that even though Connor is part demon, he chooses to be good, in time to save their marriage? Only reading it yourself will you find the answers...

My favorite book out of these three was "Come Hell or High Water." I really liked the characters Phoebe and Connor. The story line was interesting and I enjoyed all the twists and turns. It also introduced some new characters that I hope Michele will bring up in the books to come.

Next up is book #7, "Cross Your Heart," where the grand-daughter of a Broken Heart's original founder returns. Elizabeth Bretton gets turned on her first night back in Broken Heart. She tries to solve a 150 year old mystery with the help of Tez Jones who happens to be a were-jaguar.

Black Ties and Lullabies

Hello, my fellow readers! I have just finished "Black Ties and Lullabies" by Jane Graves. This is my first book by Jane and I enjoyed her writing style. She has a way of drawing you in to the characters and also hook you with her witty dialogue. I definitely want to see what else Jane and her books have in store for us!
Bernadette Hogan is not your typical lady. She speaks her mind and knows various ways to kill a person if they get in her way or don't follow her instructions. That is why Jeremy Bridges (millionaire)pays her the big bucks to keep him safe. However when Jeremy doesn't heed her advice with his new arm candy for the evening, he ends up in a situation. Luckily for Jeremy, Bernadette comes to his rescue. After that night Bernadette walks out on Jeremy for good and ends up pregnant as well. Things don't go according to plan for Bernadette especially when Jeremy wants to be a part of his baby's life. Can Bernadette and Jeremy see eye to eye in order to raise their babies as a family or will Jeremy try to buy her affection and push Bernadette away for good?

I have finally gotten the 4th book in Michele Bardsley's, 'Broken Heart' series. So I can't wait to find what kind of trouble is happening next in this town!!

The Wilde Side

Hello, my fellow readers! I have finished Janelle Denison's, "The Wilde Side." This is the first book I have read by Janelle and I am going to go back for seconds! The heroine, Ashley St. Claire, is an heiress and tired of being portrayed as the good girl. She has just turned 30 and for her birthday present she wants to let out her 'wild' side. Scott Wilde is just the man for the job. After their one night of passion Ashley goes back for more but Scott doesn't want to be a "wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am" guy. Even though he wants their relationship to stay secret from people, same as Ashley, it doesn't mean they can't have more together. Can Scott show her that the life she dreams of is right under her nose or will Ashley flee to another city to have the life she thinks she wants?

Next up I'm going to read Jane Graves, "Black Ties and Lullabies." This story is about Bernadette who is millionaire Jeremy's bodyguard. Will she strangle him herself because of his idiotic ways or will she keep him around to be a father for their child?

The Guy Next Door

Hello, my fellow readers! I have finished reading Lori Foster's new anthology featuring Susan Donovan and Victoria Dahl, "The Guy Next Door." This book contains three stories that are fun filled!

'Ready, Set, Jett' by Lori Foster introduces Natalie, a no-nonsense school teacher, who has wicked intentions when it comes to her sexy neighbor, Jett. Jett wants to expand their relationship out of the bedroom, however Natalie is afraid she'll get hurt in the process. Natalie has plans for a vacation and when Jett is not included, he charms his way to an invite. When they take the relationship on the road will it end as Jett hopes or will Natalie end it before it can truly start?

As for Susan Donovan's, 'Gail's Gone Wild', introduces Gail, who has agreed to chaperon her daughter and friend in Key West. Once they arrive Gail meets her sexy neighbor, Jesse. Jesse has a secret he's keeping from Gail because he has been hurt in the past and he sees this relationship going all the way. When Jesse reveals all will Gail understand or pack her bags before her week is up?

Victoria Dahl's, 'Just One Taste', introduces Eric, who owns a brewery with his family. When he meets Beth at a business convention and finds out what her profession is, he is intrigued. Beth can't resist the 'frat' boy look Eric has however in her line of work it could ruin her reputation. Will she be able to pull off a secret affair with him or does she end it before it begins?

My favorite out of the three was 'Just One Taste', by Victoria Dahl. This story left you hanging for more so I will definitely get the next trilogy of hers to find out what happens to both of these characters.

Next up is Janelle Denison's, "The Wilde Side". Ashley is an heiress and she's tired of being the girl everyone expects. So to celebrate her 30th birthday she goes out to find a one night stand. Instead she finds Scott. Will Ashley end the affair before things get complicated or will Scott live up to her fantasy and make Ashley his?

Because Your Vampire Said So

Hello, my fellow readers! I have completed book three in the 'Broken Heart' series by Michele Bardsley. This one has been my favorite so far. Patsy, the local hair dresser and recently turned vampire, falls for the other kind which is off limits. Even though Gabriel is a shape-shifter, he is harboring some secrets to his full powers. Will his secret allow them to be together or will it keep them apart forever? On top of Gabriel's secret, he has informed Patsy that she is the queen of both the vampires and shape-shifters. Will she be able to unite both worlds or are her powers only for the hair salon? You must read in order to find out!

Unfortunately I do not have book four in the series so I am waiting for it to arrive in the mail. So I am taking a break and have started on Lori Foster's new anthology, "The Guy Next Door".

2 for 1: I'm the Vampire, That's Why and Don't Talk Back to Your Vampire

Hello, my fellow readers! My earlier post today 'Cheri on Top', I read a week ago however forgot to post on my blog. That being said, I have finished books one and two in Michele Bardsley's 'Broken Heart' series. These books take place in Broken Heart, Oklahoma where all the adults are single, divorced, or widowed raising their children. For any who are unaware, this series is all about Vampire'sEach person who has been turned into a vampire has their own power received from the ancestors. The town has been bought out by the ancestors so they can build a para-normal community.

I was not able to put these books down! I am already half way through the third one as well. Another little tidbit is, there is a 100 year bond between vampires once you have mated...so before anyone gets 'under the covers' they better be sure.

The first book, "I'm the Vampire, That's Why," introduced Jessica a widowed mom who was just been bitten by a vampire with the 'taint'. Left for dead she is rescued by Patrick who believes she is his soul mate. Jessica is not the only one who was turned that night, ten other people in her neighborhood were bitten as well. While dealing with her new powers she must also learn how to be a mom with night hours. If that isn't enough she somehow finds time to spend with Patrick and not unexpectedly succumbs to his 'Irish' charm. As the book progresses Jessica hunts down the vampire with the 'taint' who infected her, yet never expecting who she finds...

In the second book, "Don't Talk Back to Your Vampire," introduces the town's librarian, Eva. She's just learned that the house her ancestors built as well as the library are going to be destroyed. All this because they are located on the outskirts of Broken Heart. On top of this news she is also being hunted for her powers. Lorcan is doing his best to protect her, while trying to seek forgiveness from past mistakes. Sometime during the chaos that Eva and Lorcan endure, they build a relationship. Yet, with the 100 year bond rule in effect are they willing to take the chance? You must read to find out!

I have started in on the third book, "Because Your Vampire Said So," where it introduces the town's hair dresser, Patsy. Her popular clients are the lycans and one in particular has caught her eye, Gabriel. However he's not what he seems to be.

Cheri on Top

Hello, my fellow readers! I have finished Susan Donovan's latest, "Cheri on Top". Cheri runs from her small town as soon as she is able and heads to Florida. Once their she and her BFF, Candy, run a real estate business. However once things go belly up Cheri loses everything: home, money, and current boyfriend. So when she gets a call from her Grandpa offering her a job (that pays) and a place to stay (rent free) she bites the bait. While Cheri is uncovering an embezzlement scheme with the newspaper and trying to get the story of a 30+ year old murder, she heats things up with her old boyfriend, J.J. However things at home aren't what they seem. I enjoyed this book for the twist and turns. I hope you do as well!

Next I'll be starting Michele Bardsley's, Broken Heart series.

Deep Dish

Hello fellow readers! I have finished reading Mary Kay Andrews, "Deep Dish". The two main characters, Regina and Tate, sure know how to heat things up in the kitchen. This book had it all: romance, comedy, and of course a twist. Regina and Tate are being considered for a 'top' cooking show however they have to compete with each other to get it. Can their flame for each other be contained once things start to heat up in the kitchen...You have to read it to find out!

Next up I start Michele Bardsley's vampire series 'Broken Heart' starting with "I'm the Vampire That's Why". I wonder how Jessica copes with becoming a vampire and what she thinks about the vampire that saves her, Patrick?

2 for 1 Special: Simply Irresistible and The Sweetest Thing

Hello fellow readers! I have finished reading both of Jill Shalvis' lucky harbor series, "Simply Irresistible" and "The Sweetest Thing". I thoroughly enjoyed both of these books and can't wait for the next one to come out. Jill also has another series which I plan to get my hands on once I read some of the other books I already have on my book shelf.
First, "Simply Irresistible" has a great story and introduced all the characters for the rest of the series. Maddie, the middle sister (which I can relate to, being a middle sister myself) has just lost everything that means something to her. As a last attempt to make something of herself she moves in to the inn that her mom left to her and her two half-sisters when she passed away. In order to prove to herself as well as others Maddie needs to make something of this inn. To make things worse her sisters are unwilling to stay in this town to help, nor do they care to stick around and truly become a family again. On Maddie's first night in town she meets Jax after she almost runs him off the road on his motorcycle and then to make things worse she later pushes the motorcycle over. Despite her attempt to 'have it in for his motorcycle' Jax finds her refreshing which is something he needs in his life. They soon find themselves in a 'relationsip' even though Maddie tries to keep things on a professional level since he's the only carpenter in town who she hires to help renovate the inn. Despite her good intentions Jax wants both a professional and a love relationship with her. The big question is, can they stay together when they both have skeletons in their closet? Read the book to find out!
As for the second book "The Sweetest Thing", this story is about Tara and Ford two people who fell in love at 17. And just as fast came together they fell apart due to a life changing situation. Now Tara's back in the town she never thought she'd see again along with the man from her youth. Ford has given Tara space when she first arrived however it's time to make things right between them. One thing Ford didn't count on were his feelings for her back then are just as strong as they are now. However when Tara's ex-husband comes into town to win her back Ford realizes he either has to fight for her or walk away like he did almost 20 years earlier. Tara realized that she has changed since she's been married and is not sure if she can go back to who she was or whether she wants to for that matter. Every book has a twist and even though Tara has to choose between two men all while dealing with the town voting via facebook to see which one she will choose. For another twist someone else comes to find her and Ford. Read on to find out who else is in town...You won't regret it!
Next I am reading Mary Kay Andrews, "Deep Dish". I wonder what kind of trouble Regina and Tate cook up in the kitchen!

THE HELP

Hello my fellow readers! I have finished Kathryn Stockett's, "The Help". This book was an eye opener to me on how the working class African Americans were treated before segregation became accepted. Hopefully if I lived back then I would be like the main character Skeeter and try to make a difference in any way I could. I liked Skeeter because she took a stand for what she believed in even when none of her friends supported her. As for Minny, she has a 'pit bull' attitude and had to control it in order to keep a job. However sometimes it got the better of her. Ms. Aibileen has a good heart and tried to think of the silver lining in the worst situations however you can only turn your back on so much. When these three characters team up you are in for a wild ride of what's to come and how they handle it. I hope the movie is as enjoyable as the book!

Now I am reading Jill Shalvis's, Lucky Harbor Series. The first one is "Simply Irresistible". This is the first book I have read by Jill. So far I have no complaints. I like how she tells the story and of course the 'steamy' scenes :)
